Pass on the Gift Ceremony in Istog

ISTOG, Kosovo—On April 12, 2009, many farmers from Istog and neighboring villages celebrated a Passing on the Gift ceremony. Twenty-one participants gave their heifers to new farmers in need, many of them unemployed.


Rrustem Llapaj, leader of the association that implements the Istog project, was especially happy because, with these heifers, the number of passed-on animals exceeded the number of original heifers distributed to this project. A few years ago, 113 cows were distributed here, and now the number of animals passed on to others has reached 114.
